Standard Build Schedule

Web Design & Development Timeline

Every LMH website follows the same proven 90-day path, from Kickoff Call to Launch. Each step is measured in days from kickoff, so you always know exactly where the project stands and what happens next.

Where the 90 days go

Ninety calendar days from the Kickoff Call on Day 0 to Launch on Day 90. Every step is counted in days from kickoff, never in dates, so the plan holds no matter when a project starts.

  • Kickoff & Discovery11 daysDay 0 to Day 11
  • Homepage24 daysDay 11 to Day 35
  • Interior Pages33 daysDay 35 to Day 68
  • Content, Review & Launch22 daysDay 68 to Day 90
  • Total90 days

This assumes each approval lands on the day it is due. Approvals are the only steps that can move the launch date, so a week of waiting on sign-off is a week added to the end.

The four phases

The build runs in four phases, each ending in something you can see and sign off on. The homepage is designed, approved, and built first because it sets the design language for every other page.

  • Kickoff & Discovery2 stepsHomepage design in progress
  • Homepage6 stepsQA-passed homepage
  • Interior Pages6 stepsQA-passed interior pages
  • Content, Review & Launch5 stepsLive website

Phases overlap on purpose. Interior page design begins on Day 35 while the homepage is still in QA, which is what keeps the whole build inside 90 days.

What the 19 steps are

The build is broken into 19 steps. A step is one dated checkpoint with an owner and something it produces, so at any point there is a clear answer to what is being worked on and what comes next.

  • Kickoff & Discovery2 steps
  • Homepage6 steps
  • Interior Pages6 steps
  • Content, Review & Launch5 steps
  • Total19 steps

12 of the 19 steps are ours alone to run. The other 7 involve you, and those are the ones worth putting in your calendar.

When we need you

7 of the 19 steps involve your team. Everything else runs on our side. If you only track a handful of dates in this whole timeline, track these.

  • Day 15Homepage Client PresentationTogether
  • Day 17Client ApprovalYou sign off
  • Day 42Interior Pages Client PresentationTogether
  • Day 44Client ApprovalYou sign off
  • Day 78Final Client Presentation & ReviewTogether
  • Day 85Client ApprovalYou sign off

Presentations are where we walk you through the work and collect one consolidated round of feedback. Approvals are written sign-off, and they release the next phase to start.

Kickoff & Discovery

Day 0 to Day 11

We align on goals, scope, and site structure, then gather your brand assets, photography, and content so design can start with real material.

11days2 steps

The official project start. We meet with your team to review scope, introduce the people you'll be working with, confirm goals and expectations, and collect brand assets, logins, photography, and any existing content.

DeliverableConfirmed scope, project contacts, asset handoff

With goals, structure, and assets in hand, our design team starts work on the homepage. The first full concept is ready to review on Day 11.

Homepage

Day 11 to Day 35

The homepage sets the design language for the whole site, so it gets designed, reviewed, approved, and built first.

24days6 steps

Full homepage design is produced, including layout, typography, color application, imagery, and conversion elements built around your brand and audience.

DeliverableHomepage design concept

Our team reviews the design against brand standards, conversion best practices, accessibility, and mobile behavior before it ever reaches you.

DeliverableReviewed and refined design

We present the homepage live, walk through the reasoning behind each section, and capture your feedback in one consolidated round.

DeliverableConsolidated client feedback

Revisions are applied and the homepage is signed off. This approval is the gate for development, so timely sign-off keeps the whole schedule on track.

DeliverableApproved homepage design

The approved homepage is fully built, including responsive breakpoints, animation, forms, tracking, and page speed optimization. Development wraps on this day.

DeliverableCompleted homepage build

Cross browser and cross device testing, link and form validation, accessibility checks, and performance benchmarking.

Interior Pages

Day 35 to Day 68

With the homepage locked, interior templates move quickly. Design and development of interiors overlap homepage QA.

33days6 steps

Interior templates are designed using the approved homepage design language: service pages, service areas, about, contact, blog, and supporting layouts.

DeliverableInterior page designs

Internal review of every interior template for consistency with the homepage, content fit, and conversion paths.

DeliverableReviewed interior designs

We present all interior templates together so you can review the site as a complete system rather than one page at a time.

DeliverableConsolidated client feedback

Revisions applied and interior templates signed off, releasing them to development.

DeliverableApproved interior designs

All interior templates are built out and connected, with reusable components, navigation, schema, and form handling in place. Development wraps on this day.

DeliverableCompleted interior build

Full template QA across browsers and devices, including navigation, internal linking, and responsive behavior.

Content, Review & Launch

Day 68 to Day 90

Final content goes in, the full site is reviewed end to end, and we launch.

22days5 steps

Approved copy, imagery, metadata, and on-page SEO elements are implemented across every page of the site.

DeliverableFully populated site

A complete top to bottom review of the live staging site: every page, every link, every form, plus redirects, tracking, and technical SEO.

DeliverableLaunch-ready staging site

We walk you through the finished site on staging and collect the final round of feedback before launch.

DeliverableFinal feedback round

Final revisions applied and written approval to launch.

DeliverableApproval to launch

The site goes live with redirects mapped, analytics and conversion tracking verified, sitemap submitted, and post-launch monitoring in place.

How to read this timeline

  • Day counts start at the Kickoff Call. Day 0 is the day the project officially begins, not the day the contract is signed.
  • Approvals are the gates. Design cannot move to development without written sign-off, so each approval directly moves the launch date.
  • Each step shows its own window. The days on a step are the time allotted before the next step begins. Days 35 and 68 each carry two steps that run at the same time, so they share a window.
  • Phase length is the full window. Each phase runs from its first step to the start of the next, so the four durations add up to exactly 90 days. Work also overlaps: interior design starts while the homepage is in QA.
  • Feedback is consolidated. Each presentation collects one combined round of feedback from your team rather than ongoing individual notes.
  • The chips show who is involved. Yellow LMH steps are ours to deliver. Black Client steps need your team. Steps showing both chips are worked on together.
  • Content readiness matters most. Late copy, photography, or logins are the single most common cause of a shifted launch date.
